Well Brandon starts School tomorrow, only this time he makes his big change as he goes into Middle School. Just the other day I was thinking, Oh my School starts up and I haven’t gotten anything for Brandon yet. I didn’t even have the money to do so. So I was thinking, ok he has some clothes that I just bought him during the summer (that still fit, he is growing like a weed these days), I have some paper, pens and pencils. He has his old backpack (but its showing it’s wear), and I can afford to buy him folder. But thankfully yesterday I was able to get a new client right in time (I LOVE WHEN THIS HAPPENS) and life will get better so I don’t have to stress over money so much as nobody should have too.
So today I call up a few people to see if they still need to do their shopping. And I was able to catch a ride with Angie to Target. Brandon and I could of taken the bus or walked but when it’s 90-100 degrees outside you try to avoid that if at all possible. And this way I can buy a lot more things, always best to try and buy everything you might need for the year before school, cause you find the greatest prices on supplies, .10 cents for this .50 for that. So I went crazy as you see. But total over all was only $220.00 and this included cleaning supplies and some new flip flops for me.
Here is the list of school supplies we bought.
1 – Camouflage Backpack $13.99
1 – 3 Ring Binder $15.99 (Brandon wanted one with a speaker in it to hook up to I-pod’s and CD players, but I told him you go to school for an education not to listen to music besides it cost $30.00)
10 – 70 count college ruled notebooks $.10 each
5 – 150 count wide ruled filler paper (didn’t have college ruled) $.30 each
10 – report cover folders $.10 each
1 – 3 pack yellow highlighter pens $1.79
1 – 2 pack scissors $0.89
1 – 6 pack glue sticks $1.00
1 – notebook dictionary $3.79
2 – portfolio folders $.99 each
1 – 10 pack of blue pens $.50
1 – 10 pack of black pens $.50
1 – 20 pack of sheet protectors $1.98
1 – 8 count pack of erasures $.79
1 – 8 count pack of pencil/pen grippers $.99 (a lil special request of Brandon’s)
1 – 60 count #2 pencils (is there such a thing as #1’s or #3’s ?) $3.99
4 – composition books $.50 each (want these for Brandon to star writing like a daily journal to improve his writing and his writing skills)
1 – 12 count erasable colored pencils (didn’t know that colored pencils were not already erasable) $3.44
1 – 64 count crayons (in case he needs them for a project also good to have for younger kids like nephews and nieces who come over) $3.24

I didn’t buy so many clothes mainly because he has the ones I bought him this summer but will also go in the next few weeks to a month to buy more. That is when I’ll probably hit up Marshall’s to buy him some nicer stuff. Didn’t want to drag Angie all over town.
1 – 5 pack of t-shirts
1 – 5 pack of a-shirts (aka wifebeaters*)
2 – 6 packs socks
1 – 4 pack of boxer briefs
1 – pair of khakis

1 – pair of olive green shorts
6 – multiple color t-shirts (grey, brown, red, black, olive green, white)

Ok enough of the senseless post, time to get back to work.
Wifebeaters: The term originates from frequent depictions in popular culture of aggressive American men, usually living in poor conditions (such as living in a trailer) and having low income, beating their wives and/or children while clad in this shirt. (information borrowed from wikipedia
