With the latest Facebook update it allows you to view the your friends activity instantly.

Some of it is nice, but alot you don’t really need to know. And personally I don’t care for the idea that my friends and family can see everything I am doing on Facebook, not like I have alot to hide.

To remove a particular friends comments and likes from your Facebook feed do the following…

Move your cursor over your friend’s name a box will load (or go to their profile).
Move your cursor over the Subscribed tab.
Un-check the Comments and Likes link.

Your activity feed will be a lot cleaner once you go through all of your friends. Make sure to share this information with friends so you can have more privacy too…

Or if you have alot of friends you’ll probably be better off just ignoring the new Facebook activity feed all together…

My eating habits have changed alot since I have started to loose weight. All diets I have done before usually consisted of cutting out fat or carbs. But for me and others its not a very realistic life style. Dieting I have learned is more of a change of lifestyle, because once you loose the weight you have to learn to keep it off. You can’t loose it then go back to your old eating habits otherwise you will add the pounds right back on. If your on a low carb diet you have to cut out so many things such as pasta, breads all white vegetables and if your like me and you love pasta you know its very hard to do. For example we had macaroni and cheese made with our dinner the other night. I love some mac and cheese so instead of saying no to it, I just decided to get my self a small serving of it. I made my tummy happy in two ways, I gave it what it wanted and limited the amount it should have without going over my daily calories.

Here are a few other things I have changed…

My late night snacks are very limited, No more late night runs to the taco shop as there once was, well at least in San Diego.

Instead of a hamburger, I choose grilled chicken instead instead of fry’s have a side salad with low cal dressing. Low cal dressing seems to be tasting better these days or at least in my opinion.

My breakfast usually consist of fruit, which a 8oz cup of coffee which sugar substitute with two tablespoons of milk or creamer.

Soda is almost completely cut out with the exception of an occasional diet coke.

Yes I still go out to eat, I just make better choices on the menu, just about any place you go to has a low cal menu. Subway is one of my favorite fast food places to go. Today, I drove up to Sacramento and we needed to get something to eat. They wanted Taco Bell, I know they have a low cal menu but in the drive thru I didn’t see it so I ordered what sounded good which was the new chicken flat bread sandwich. I knew I shouldn’t be having it, but I decided to order just one, something I normally would have ordered 2 or 3 of because of the small size. I am thankful for my decision because for one my stomach was content with it and I later found out that it was 300 calories and that is within the range that I like to keep each meal at (usually I give myself more for dinner.) I do however allow myself a cheat meal which has usually been on Fridays.

I have snacks I love the selection of 100 cal snack packs you can buy. However the other day I wanted something to snack on and Brandon had some cheese nips. I looked at the calorie content and it was 150 per serving of 29 crackers. Before I would of never thought to get the serving size and just eat out of the box, but this time I actually counted out 15 crackers so I could cut the calories in half to 75. The handful of crackers did the job just as I wanted to and I was content. Also veggies and fruit are great snacks. A small salad has been my thing these days when I get a lil hungry.

I have trained my tummy and my eyes to be satisfied before I am full.

I am drinking alot more water.

I keep track of everything I eat.

I also take a woman’s multi vitamin every morning.

So a lil while ago I had purchased a tape measure because weighing myself will not always show a loss sometimes even a gain (due to water or muscle). I like to see numbers as they are the best way to see change in yourself. I kinda forgot that I purchased the tape measure and remembered tonight while relaxing. Jumped up grabbed it and was happy to see that it was two inches smaller. Yes I made sure not to suck in my gut and that it was the same area as last time. I haven’t worked out for a few days now because my body was aching from all the working out I was doing, so I took two days off for that then I spent alot of time with Nyia helping her get ready for her trip. Now she is gone so I have no excuse to not get back. But I can say that I am still watching my diet with the exception of Friday night dinners which is our cheat meal.

With trying to become more fit and in shape I decided that I would share some of my new found knowledge. There is so much information I could share with you about what I have learned about the goods of making sure you drink enough water for your body along with the bad of drinking too much (yes there is such a thing). However I will just share the basics, however most of it is common sense.

Dehydration:

Feel thirsty? Then you are probably dehydrated. Other symptoms of dehydration (which I have experienced all) include headaches, loss of concentration, tiredness, and dry eyes and skin. I now bring my 32 oz water bottle with me everywhere.

How much water to drink daily:

The old way of thinking of how much water to drink per a day is 8 glasses at 8 ounces each. However you may need more with exercising, being in the heat, or those of us who are overweight we require more as well. Now the rule of thumb for your water intake is to divide your weight by 2 (example: 200 pounds divided by 2 = 100 ounces) equals the amount in ounces of water that you need each day. I also read that it should be cold as it is absorbed into our system quicker the evidence suggest that it may even help burn calories, if that is the case then I will never drink warm water again lol.

How to increase daily water intake:

At first it may not be so easy, but if you get a nice size water bottle and keep it with you throughout the day I find it alot easier to drink the amount of water I should. So I am not constantly getting up to fill up my glass. I sometimes catch myself laying in bed watching TV slowly just sucking away on the straw of my water. I’m sure I look pretty silly with it attached to my face. But I do know I feel alot better knowing that I’m drinking my required water for the day.

Borrowed from the facebook page of the FLOACIST

Note to self: Sometimes it is the change that I fight the most that is the change that I need the most. Sometimes that which I fear to loose is that which I would benefit from letting go. It is difficult to identify clarity with emotionally misted lenses. Responding to the past in the present can stagnate one’s future. Breathe.

I love it

I have lost 40lbs up to date (and have alot more planned to loose). And have been learning more about my own self which is probably the best thing so far.
