This is a very common question these days especially in regards to DVDs and Games (such as Xbox or Playstation). Well now your “official” answer is here.

PLEASE NOTE: I don’t condone the piracy of DVDs, Games and CDs ripping should be done for archival backup up of disc that you have purchased.

It is my job as a geekess to show you how to correctly burn copyrighted disc. First as always you want to make sure that the disc is nice and clean. Then you have to choose the process you would like to take which would depend on your hardware. But just like all hardware the performance of it will depend on the quality which means $$$, higher quality hardware generally performs alot faster and gives you alot better results. I will show you two different ways.

First get the disc you want to burn make sure it’s as clean as possible..

First I will show you the burning process on my Magic “burn” Chef 2000. Please note that this is a lower quality piece of hardware and will take more time to get higher quality results.

Here are the results after about a quick 30 second burn

This next burn is using my Emerson Micro”burn”wave 5000 this gives you a much higher quality burn in only about 2 seconds, talk about fast.

Here are the high quality results as you can see a much higher quality, please remember the longer you let it burn the better results you will get. However I do NOT recommend it.

These are not the only two ways to burn a disc. You can also try the Zippo “burn” lighter 500 but as you can imagine this process will take a very long time and the quality will be horrible.

Ok on to some seriousness.

I don’t condone you doing this. I would not want you to burn down your house while doing this, and such things should not be attempted. Heathersblog.com will not be held responsible if you actually do these and burn your house or if something should happen to you in the process such as any medical conditions that may arise. I also will not be held responsible for what ever problems that might happen to your Microwave. Although this is a great way to ensure that the data on the disc is unrecoverable, If you choose to throw it away. However there are shredders out there for this type of thing.
