Plot Outline: Lee Holloway is a smart, quirky woman in her twenties who returns to her hometown in Florida after a brief stay in a mental hospital. In search of relief from herself and her oppressive childhood environment, she starts to date a nerdy friend from high school and takes a job as a secretary in a local law firm, soon developing an obsessive crush on her older boss, Mr. Grey. Through their increasingly bizarre relationship, Lee follows her deepest longings to the heights of masochism and finally to a place of self-affirmation. (borrowed from IMDB)
First I want to say that Secretary is not a film for the easily shocked. It includes scenes of spanking, masturbation and self-mutilation.
Robin is my source for movies to watch. I would of never in a million years ever think to watch some of the movies I have seen lately. Last nights film was “Secretary.” I got this a few nights ago and tried to watch it then but discovered I was way to tired. However I did see the first minute or so of it, which was long enough to grab my attention when it shows the mastery of the secretarial duties of Lee Holloway (Maggie Gyllenhaal) with both hands tied behind her back (see photo below).
When wanting to watch a movie last night I first popped in “Murderous Intent” but after having a few drinks that movie just wasn’t grabbing my attention quck enough. So Secretary immediately came to mind next.
Holloway (Maggie Gyllenhaal) has a horrible way of always having typos in her documents written up for her boss. After constantly getting on her about it. He finally pulls her into his office. Demands her to put her hands flat down on the desk face down as close as possible to the document and read it, only to surprise her with him spanking her over and over demanding she repeats it. While at first she is surprised you can also see it in her eyes that she likes it (this scene to some is considered one of the sexiest scenes in any movie). It gets to the point where she becomes obsessed with it. She starts to purposely make errors, unfortunately at the same time he begins to overlook them. Secretary is a black comedy that doubles as a love story, a good clean fun…oops good dirty fun movie, now with that said I’ll leave the rest of it up for you to watch if you decide to check it out.
Some of my favorite quotes
[Lee refuses to remove her hands from the desk]
Peter: Are you doing something sexual?
Lee: Does this look sexual to you?
Lee: You’re not shy. You’re a lawyer.
Dr. Twardon: Who’s to say that love needs to be soft and gentle?
First scene in the movie

After seeing this scene I just new I had to put it up here…
