Zion

This is such a beautiful song. It was written for Lauryn’s eldest son. And it gets me all emotional inside whenever I hear it thankfully allot less now that Brandon is back with me.

Lauryn Hill – To Zion

Unsure of what the balance held
I touched my belly overwhelmed
By what I had been chosen to perform
But then an angel came one day
Told me to kneel down and pray
For unto me a man child would be born
Woe this crazy circumstance
I knew his life deserved a chance
But everybody told me to be smart
Look at your career they said,
“Lauryn, baby use your head”
But instead I chose to use my heart

Every Wednesday summer night between 5-8p.m. here in El Cajon they have the Cajon Classic Cruise which is Southern California’s largest weekly classic car show it averaged 300 automobiles and more than 3,500 attendees per week during its 2006 season… Tonight Brandon and I went to go check it out again, to take some pictures and found out tonight was the last show for the year so it was a good thing we went. Wanda Sykes

sykes.jpgWanda Sykes has to be my all time favorite comedian. I just recently acquired two of her stand up comedy dvd’s which would be

1. Tongue Untied
2. Sick and Tired

Of the two I totally recommend Sick and Tired but just be sure that you know that these are not meant to be watched around children especially “Sick and Tired” and neither is the attached video clip (contains adult content/language) so this clip may be offensive to some. But it is my favorite scenes from anything I have ever seen from her.

Behold the five minute “detachable vagina” (ok that is the nice word) scene from “Sick and Tired”

The Movie “Secretary”

519svbxs23l_aa240_.jpgStarring: Maggie Gyllenhaal, James Spader, Leslie Ann Warren, Stephen McHattie, and Jeremy Davies
Directed by: Steven Shainberg
Rated: R
Release Date: 2002
Tagline: Assume the position.

Plot Outline: Lee Holloway is a smart, quirky woman in her twenties who returns to her hometown in Florida after a brief stay in a mental hospital. In search of relief from herself and her oppressive childhood environment, she starts to date a nerdy friend from high school and takes a job as a secretary in a local law firm, soon developing an obsessive crush on her older boss, Mr. Grey. Through their increasingly bizarre relationship, Lee follows her deepest longings to the heights of masochism and finally to a place of self-affirmation. (borrowed from IMDB)

First I want to say that Secretary is not a film for the easily shocked. It includes scenes of spanking, masturbation and self-mutilation.

Robin is my source for movies to watch. I would of never in a million years ever think to watch some of the movies I have seen lately. Last nights film was “Secretary.” I got this a few nights ago and tried to watch it then but discovered I was way to tired. However I did see the first minute or so of it, which was long enough to grab my attention when it shows the mastery of the secretarial duties of Lee Holloway (Maggie Gyllenhaal) with both hands tied behind her back (see photo below).

When wanting to watch a movie last night I first popped in “Murderous Intent” but after having a few drinks that movie just wasn’t grabbing my attention quck enough. So Secretary immediately came to mind next.

Holloway (Maggie Gyllenhaal) has a horrible way of always having typos in her documents written up for her boss. After constantly getting on her about it. He finally pulls her into his office. Demands her to put her hands flat down on the desk face down as close as possible to the document and read it, only to surprise her with him spanking her over and over demanding she repeats it. While at first she is surprised you can also see it in her eyes that she likes it (this scene to some is considered one of the sexiest scenes in any movie). It gets to the point where she becomes obsessed with it. She starts to purposely make errors, unfortunately at the same time he begins to overlook them. Secretary is a black comedy that doubles as a love story, a good clean fun…oops good dirty fun movie, now with that said I’ll leave the rest of it up for you to watch if you decide to check it out.

Some of my favorite quotes

[Lee refuses to remove her hands from the desk]
Peter: Are you doing something sexual?
Lee: Does this look sexual to you?

Lee: You’re not shy. You’re a lawyer.

Dr. Twardon: Who’s to say that love needs to be soft and gentle?

Chrisette Michele

I have an online friend of mine that I have been talking to for a while. He is a really great guy. We both love photography, techy stuff, and the same exact music. He has exposed me to alot of artist that I never knew existed. With him living in New York lately he has been able to see some great shows and all free, I think it’s some sort of summer festiviy. Performers such as Leela James, Miki Howard, Raheem Devaughn, Chaka Khan (oh wait, did you make it to her on time?) and even people like Doug E. Fresh. When I found out he was seeing them all perform I asked him where my airline ticket was to fly out there. Since neither one of us can afford to fly anywhere at the present time lol he said he would take exclusive shots for me. And that he would even delete the photographs after I recieved them (did he really delete them? Not sure, didn’t ask and if he didn’t it’s fine by me lol)

I placed the watermark on top of these images because they are ‘my’ special pictures and I don’t want anyone to steal them..
