Love is like playing the piano. First you must learn to play by the rules, then forget the rules and play from your heart

I never got ready for any of the holidays before. Only because they were simply to depressing for me to deal with with out my boy in my life. On Halloween I would have my outside light off so I wouldn’t be disturbed with all the cute kiddies coming around asking for candies with their cute little costumes and yelling out “Trick or Treat”. But now that is all over. So not having anything from previous years. I thought I better start buying stuff now and decorating. So today I made my first purchase to decorate my front yard with. Brandon keeps changing his mind on what he wants to dress up as. First he said an alien, then he said Mario Brother’s and today he mentioned being the grim reaper, which will be the easiest one so far that he has thought of. I hope he sticks to that one.

As far as the other holidays coming up, I probably wont do too much decorating for Thanksgiving but definitely will for Christmas. Even though I’m married to a Muslim man who doesn’t celebrate Christmas I have a son who does. And thankfully Mohcine seems to understand. I love you hunny.

Here are the first decorations for Halloween. They came with lights that you can put in them, but for now they are without since I need to get an extension cord for them.

  1. seveghin (7) Said,

I might have to 3 bags of candy corned pumpkins::::mwahaha:

  2. Julie Said,

Very cute decorations. I need to drag mine out tomorrow. A Mario Brother would be cute. A fake moustache, hat, white gloves and a pair of overalls. I can’t believe they are still around. I used to play that game when I was a pre-teen. But when you’re Brandon’s age they want to be “scary”. Liam is going as a pirate, he is young enough still that I get to choose. :)

Here’s a Mario costume on ebay. Pricey though!

    Here’s the costume I ordered for Liam (he’s 2)

Would you mind if I linked to you on my blog? You are much better at keeping up with yours. You inspire me to keep at it. :)

    Julie

  3. Julie Said,

Holy Moly, sorry for the long links. :duh:

  4. Heather Said,

    Julie,
I was trying to get the idea of being Mario out of Brandon’s head. I think he is a little old to dress up as him. I’m afraid kids will make fun of him and I don’t want that.

I fixed the links so no worries. And feel free to link to my blog, the more the better. I added your blog to my links page, guess I should of asked first. Hope you don’t mind.

    7,
Where we used to live we never had a problem with trick or treaters did we? Specially you and Allan…

  5. Robin Said,

    You must be loving it!

I’m actually looking forward to carving a pumpkin and I hope little trick or treaters stop by our house. The apartments we had before weren’t the kind of place trick or treaters came…mostly since we were on the 2nd floor or whatever.

Other than that the only other holiday I do anything for is Valentines day:heartbeat:

  6. Heather Said,

    Yep I sure am :)
